Jeremiah's Calling
The book of Jeremiah opens with God's calling. Jeremiah is daunted by the job because of his youth. God shows him the image of an almond tree and a boiling pot from the North. In spite of Judah turning back to God during the reign of Josiah, we see that the time of judgment is imminent.
